In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Jefferson County School District R-1 is committed to providing accessible web content for all individuals seeking online information about the district’s programs, services and activities.
What are we doing?
Jeffco Public Schools is dedicated to creating a digital environment that is inclusive and accessible to all. To achieve this, we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, which outline best practices for making web content more user-friendly and accessible to individuals with disabilities.
In addition to adhering to these guidelines, we are actively working to comply with Colorado House Bills 21-1110 and 24-1454, which require public entities to ensure accessibility across their digital platforms. These efforts reflect our commitment to fostering equity and inclusion across all of Jeffco's digital resources.
Digital Accessibility Audit & Remediation Project
As part of our commitment to accessibility, Jeffco is conducting a district-wide Accessibility Audit & Remediation Project. This effort focuses on evaluating and improving the accessibility of our digital tools, including internal software and external platforms, to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
With a focus on our immediate enhancements and sustainable improvements, this initiative is designed to ensure our digital resources remain inclusive for all users now and in the future.
How are we doing?
